QuickTill guide · 7 min read

Plan hardware around the real QuickTill workflow.

Hardware compatibility must be verified with the exact device model, operating system and connection method. Buying a generic Bluetooth printer or scale without testing its protocol can create avoidable support problems.

Receipt printers

Confirm connection type, paper width, character support, cutter behaviour and the application’s selected-printer flow.

  • Bluetooth, USB or network connection
  • 58mm or 80mm layout
  • ESC/POS compatibility where applicable
  • Repeated print and reconnect testing

Barcode scanners and scales

A scanner should enter the expected barcode cleanly. Weighted products require an agreed scale-label format that maps the product code and weight correctly.

  • Scanner suffix and keyboard behaviour
  • Readable retail barcode formats
  • Configured scale prefix and item code
  • Test labels across the supported weight range

Deployment checklist

Test one complete hardware set before purchasing or configuring multiple counters.

  • Sale, payment and receipt test
  • Restart and reconnect test
  • Offline-behaviour test
  • Named spare-device and replacement procedure
Important

Confirm fiscal, tax, hardware and connectivity requirements against the exact business and deployment. This guide is operational information, not tax or legal advice.
