This guide explains how to filter, interpret, export, and troubleshoot QuickTill reports.
Before loading a report¶
- Confirm the correct tenant and user.
- Select the facility or inventory where offered.
- Choose the date range.
- Check whether the report uses transaction date, business day, or cash-up period.
- Apply filters once and allow the request to finish.
Large ranges and unfiltered multi-facility reports can take longer. Begin with a smaller date range when investigating a specific event.
Receipt report¶
Open Reports & Analytics > Receipts.
Use it to search issued sales documents, inspect payment details, review currency totals, and open a specific order. Search by order or receipt reference whenever possible.
Salesperson receipts¶
Open the salesperson receipt report when it is available to your role.
- Choose the retail location.
- Select the salesperson.
- Set the date range.
- Apply the filters.
- Compare totals with sessions and cash-up records.
Inventory Profit Report¶
The Profit Report compares sale values and recognised inventory costs.
- Select the appropriate inventory and period.
- Review gross values and item-level results.
- Investigate zero or unusual costs before relying on margins.
- Compare promotions, refunds, and tax treatment when totals differ.
Profit reporting is only as accurate as product cost and stock-receipt records.
Inventory Cost Report¶
The Cost Report values current stock using recorded costs.
- Select a stock location.
- Load the valuation.
- Review the overall cost evaluation.
- Drill into selected inventory items.
- Export the result when a controlled snapshot is required.
Zero, negative, or unexpectedly high valuations should be investigated through GRVs, adjustments, transformations, and Stock Movement.
Inventory Sold Report¶
Use the Sold Report to identify quantities and products sold during a period.
- Filter by period and facility.
- Compare quantities with receipts when investigating a product.
- Consider refunds and reversals.
- Use pagination rather than attempting to render every row at once.
Stock Movement Report¶
The Stock Movement report is the primary ledger for tracing changes in inventory quantity.
Filter by inventory, product, and period. Follow receipts, transfers, sales, returns, adjustments, and transformations in chronological order.
Accounting reports¶
Open Accounting for the accounting overview and controls supported by the backend.
Depending on tenant capability, sections can include:
- Financial overview.
- Sales and payment summaries.
- Expense information.
- Chart of accounts.
- Accounting settings.
- QuickTill-only reporting.
When the screen states that a section needs backend support, the UI cannot create missing accounting data by itself. Contact the administrator responsible for the tenant configuration.
Cash-up reports¶
Open Cash Up to review recent sessions, day totals, counted cash, expected cash, and variances.
- Use Recent for individual sessions.
- Use Day Totals for a business-day summary.
- Use Compare where available to compare selected totals.
- Open sold items or order items to investigate a difference.
- Use Print or Save PDF with items for the complete record.
Filters¶
Good report filters are specific:
- Use the smallest date range that answers the question.
- Select one facility when investigating local stock or cash.
- Use an exact receipt, user, product, SKU, or barcode when known.
- Reset old filters before starting a different investigation.
The number shown in a filtered report may not represent the entire business unless all facilities and dates are included.
Exporting and sharing¶
Reports may provide CSV, Excel, PDF, Open, Share, Show in folder, or Download actions.
- Apply and verify report filters.
- Review several rows and the totals.
- Choose the required export type.
- Wait for the export-success message.
- Open the file and confirm its date range and facility.
- Store or share it using an approved business location.
On web, the browser normally downloads the file. On mobile or desktop, QuickTill may provide Open, Share, or folder actions.
Reconciling differences¶
Use this sequence:
- Confirm filters, timezone, currency, and facility.
- Find the source receipt or stock document.
- Check refunds, reversals, and offline records.
- Review Stock Movement for inventory differences.
- Review cashier sessions and payment reconciliation for cash differences.
- Review audit events for configuration or manual corrections.
Common problems¶
No report data¶
- Widen the date range carefully.
- Clear overly specific filters.
- Confirm the selected facility.
- Synchronize pending transactions.
- Confirm your role has access to the data.
Report takes too long¶
- Use a smaller date range.
- Select one facility or product.
- Avoid opening the same report in multiple tabs.
- Wait for the current request before pressing refresh again.
Export does not open¶
- Check browser download permissions or device storage permissions.
- Look in the configured Downloads folder.
- Generate the export again only after confirming the first attempt failed.
